Yoshi & the Mysterious Book Release Date

   Yoshi and the Mysterious book has finally got a release date! We also got a couple new reveals for the game!

What Is Yoshi & the Mysterious Books

   Yoshi and the Mysterious book is a platformer game you explore different 2D levels inside a book named Mr. Encyclopedia or Mr. E for short, who fell out of the sky. In these levels you find different creatures that you can experiment with and discover what they do. For example, you can find a flower and eat if and find out what it tastes like, or you can bring that flower to a field of grass, and it will make flowers bloom in the grass field!

   This game does not seem like the tradition 2D platformer because you are exploring different levels that seem to have no end point other than discovering all of the experiments in a level. This is kind of a game where you are a scientist/explorer discovering new creatures and testing experiments with you new discoveries! This seems like a game that Nintendo made for a younger audience. I mean like it does not seem to have any violence whatsoever, other than eating creatures alive, but hey at least he's not squishing their brains... Mario!?!

Release Date

   This game will be releasing on May 21, 2026. I kind of find it weird how this game will not be coming out in April with the Super Mario Galaxy Movie. I mean like it would make perfect sense, but instead we get Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, which I mean is a great game I'm pretty exciting for it to come out, but all I'm saying is that it would make sense to have a Yoshi game release in the same month where he gets his movie the Super Yoshi Galaxy Movie. I mean the Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

New Revealed Features

   In the trailer they showed us a Gubbit, which is a frog-like creature that blows bubbles out of its mouth. If you thought a Gubbit was a weird name, and never ever want to hear that word again you can name the creature yourself! So, this has a bit of No Man's Sky in it. I can also see Nintendo taking precautions and not allowing any type of online play for the fear of anything not child appropriate like Tomodachi Life. Heck we probably won't even be able to take screenshots of the names we made. If you also cannot think of a name for the creature you've discovered, you can have the very useful Mr. E can name it for you, but you may get a name like Gubbit.

   There was also quite a couple different creatures like this one that looked like the Goblin Drill from Clash Royale mixed in with a lion. If I got the game, I would name it Drilleon, which is drill plus lion. Another creature that caught my eye was a flying manta ray that seemed to be mixed in with a bird that you can hold on and fly. The mechanics to fly look like they would be like flying in super Mario World!

   Jr. Bowser will be in this game, so I wonder if they made this game for the Galaxy movie, which they probably did, but if they did how come we just didn't get a new 3D Mario. Maybe we could've gotten a sequel to odyssey and the 3rd Galaxy game called Mario's Galactic Odyssey! I wonder what role he will play in this game because at the end of the trailer he said, "Oh it's you," that all he said he wasn't mad or nothing, if anything he was happy to see Yoshi. I wonder if we get a little Bowser's fury and have Jr. Bowser a protagonist or the 2nd player.

   So, I'm kind of interested in what this game has to offer I mean like this seems like the perfect adventure 2D game. Although depending on the meta score maybe it will be described as too much of a baby game, so I may not buy. It's probably not a game I will pick up on day one but something that would be interesting to have in my collection. Any way I love to hear you thought on the game and if you will be buying it.
