Nintendo Game is Coming to an end

Mobile Game Mario Kart Tours is Going Down

On July 8th of 2026 Nintendo tweeted out that they will be shutting down Mario Kart World Tour! After 7 years this game will be coming to an end. All the money people put into this game will be going down the drain. Just to think last week I was thinking of downloading this game!

This shutdown is outrageous, I mean like think about all the people who spent numerous of dollars on this game. This game has made over 200 million dollars according to Sensor Tower. Just to think this game has no ads so the only way Nintendo was able to make money off this game was by people paying for in-game items.

In this game there is a currency called rubies. You can earn rubies in the game for free, but you can also pay real money to get more rubies. Nintendo won't be refunding any rubies that you bought. You can still use existing rubies in Mario Kart Tours, but you cannot buy any more.

Luckily all of the tracks are in Mario Kart 8 deluxe's DLC, all but one. Piranha Pipeline is the only track that will no longer be accessible after Nintendo shuts down this game. Maybe this means Nintendo will have a DLC for Mario Kart World soon.

Sadly, Nintendo has no intentions to make an offline version of game. Meaning every single penny and minute spent in this game will all be wasted. Feel free to roast Nintendo in comments. This is one of the handful of times Nintendo deserves it.
