Mario Kart World
Mario Kart World is the latest instalment of the Mario Kart series! This game has introduced plenty of new features but also lost a couple features from the last Mario Kart. This game has a Metacritic of 86 out of 100, which is 6 less than the last Mario Kart.
My Short Review
This game is one of the best games to play for game night! All the tricks you can perform in this game give you a nice film! The maps are all great and the connected tracks are pretty great! There are a lot of collectables you can collect in this game that can give you hours of entertainment IF you have to patience to do so.
This game can get very old very quick, especially if you won't play this game with others often. The grand prix does not have any traditional three laps. Many modes from the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are missing in this game.
PROS:
- You save $30 on if you choose to download this game, which is $10 more than the rest of the games!
- This game is perfect for family/friend game nights and competitive players!
- Nintendo does hold special events with this game!
- If you like to 100% games this game will give you hours of content!
CONS:
- This game can get old very quick. Especially if you don't like to 100%
- This game does feel like it's worth $50 instead of $80
- Many features and Characters still missing from Mario Kart Deluxe
- Does not support game share.
Donkey Kong Bananza
Donkey Kong Banaza is a great action/adventure game. This is the second 3D Donkey Kong game. The Metacritic of this game is 91 out of 100. This game was also made by the same development team that made Mario Odyssey!
The storyline for this game is that you are Donkey Kong who is working as a miner! One day he stumbles upon a rock who turns out to be 13-year-old Pauline! As Donkey Kong you have to help Pauline get to the surface by going to the core of the earth to wish her back to the surface!
My Short Review!
Donkey Kong Bananza is in my top 2 Switch 2 games; I can't choose this game or a different game to be my favorite! This game has an epic storyline with some twist and turns! The collectables you can gets can be fun to collect! This can also entertain you for hours with all the collectables if you have the patience! This was honestly one of the games I really wanted to 100%, but I accidentally deleted my main save file.
Destroying everything feels great! Making art with the DK artist mode is really fun! All the layers are unique, although some are a bit bland.
I have practically no complaints of this game other than how easy it is to delete a save file, but that is practically every game. At some point the game gets slow, your excitement dwindles a little, but your excitement comes back towards the end! The boss battles are pretty easy especially if you are playing in two players. The Rambi races are not what I expected in a bad way.
PROS:
- Great game to let your anger out by destroying everything around you! You can also use motion controls, so it feels like you are actually beating up the ground!
- Great gameplay and storyline!
- Supports game share!
- Prequal to Mario Odyssey. It may be a sequel to Odyssey; we don't really know.
- Really changes up Donkey Kong lore, so it gets your mind thinking about DK lore!
- DK artist is a statue sculpting mode that is really fun!
- With the saved $20 you can buy the DLC!
- In one Nintendo profile you can have up to 3 save files!
CONS:
- Paid DLC. DK island and the new roguelike mode are locked behind this DLC. This DLC has events that seems to be a onetime thing as of May.
- Bosses are pretty easy.
- You only save $20 instead of $30
- The ending's surprise has largely been spoiled, even by Nintendo. So be very careful when seeing content about this game.
Pokopia
Pokopia is in my top 2 favorite games! This is a cozy game with Pokémon. This game has a Metacritic of 89 making it the best Pokémon game according to Metacritic! This game also uses real-time so you will need patience. This game does not have any Pokémon battles.
The storyline for this game is that you are a ditto in an abandoned world with no humans! As that ditto you are supposed to restore the world and bring back humans. On your journey you meet Professor Tangrowth who is a Pokémon. In this game you meet a variety of different Pokémon, including new variants of certain Pokémon, that will help you on your goal to bring back humans!
My Short Review!
This game is great and a must-need for cozy gamers! If you are new to the cozy game genre this is a great way to introduce yourself to that genre! This game will give you HOURS of content, but you will need patience. You can time travel to make the game faster! This is a Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and Animal Crossing mushed together! The music is really great; it also gives you a feel of suspense at some points!
This game is not for the action seeking gamers. You only have one save file, so use it wisely. Not all starter Pokémon are in the game. There is not actually underwater exploration. The storyline is good just not like Donkey Kong Bananza good. Do not expect huge house to house Pokémon without habitats inside.
PROS:
- Hours of content.
- Unleash your creativity and build multiple creations!
- Multiple fan favorite Pokémon are in there!
- There are events that will make you want to come back to this game every so often!
- You can get a feel of adventure! Just not action.
CONS:
- Not for action seekers
- Does use real time which game make the game progress a little slower, but you can look to the bright side and unleash your creativity!
- You only save $20 and $30
- Some fan favorite Pokémon are not in there like Totodile's evolution line.
