Ways to tell if you are going against a CPU in Pokémon Champions
Is that a Pokémon CPU?
Pokémon Champions just released on mobile, and something I noticed is that there are a lot of computers. This can be very annoying. In today's article I will be listing different signs that you are facing a bot. Warning: I am only at Great Ball tier 2 in the double battles, so things may vary depending on tier.
Is the Username in Japanese Writing?
One thing I have noticed is that when I am facing a bot their username is in Japanese writing, well that what the translator told me. Sometimes the username does not need to be Japanese for it to be a bot. Some of the time this can be an actual person. Remember don't rely on this one sign to tell if it's bot or not.
Banner is not customized
When you start a battle there is a battle banner with your opponent's username. On that banner there are couple different custom features like titles and badges. This is a cool way to share some of your achievements, but if you are going against a bot all they have on their banner is their username and ranking, that's it. For very new players this is fine because you just started the game, so you haven't got too far. But if you are past the Pokéball 1 Tier in either battle format, you should have at least 1 title.
Going on a Small Losing Streak
To be honest, I can be on a losing streak a lot... until a bot comes along. This is the time where bots appear the most, when you are at the bottom of your tier. A computer will almost never appear if you are in the middle or top of your tier. There is a small chance that when you are at the bottom of your tier you will go against a real person. I'm not at the Master Ball Tier so things may vary there.
Poor Move Choices
Sometimes CPUs have no idea what they are doing. One time in Double battles I had a CPU hit one of my normal type Pokémon with a ghost type move that did absolutely nothing because of type advantages. The thing is I had a Pokémon that could've been hit by ghost type moves in play, but it hit the Pokémon with the type of advantage!?!
So, there can be a quite a couple different computers in this game. Pokéball Tier 4 is full of computers. Tell me some ways you can tell if your opponent is a computer in the comments below.
